FROM HEAD TO TOE BY ERIC CARLE
This is a video about the story "From head to toe" written by Eric Carle, that we read to introduce the basic body parts and simple body movements.
As pupils copy the antics of the animals, they’ll learn such important skills as careful listening, focusing attention, and following instructions in english.
We had a lot of fun reading this book, hope you like it!

PHONICS: SECOND GROUP OF LETTER SOUNDS
This week we are going to see the second group of letter sounds: c k ck, e, h, r, m mb, d.
To learn the sound of these three graphemes "c", "k", "ck", we clicked our hands as if they were CASTANETS.
Then we tried to write some short words, segmenting the sounds, using capital letters too. They had to hear the complete word, and recognize its sounds. We knew that it was very difficult but....it was an incredible success!
To learn the sound of these three graphemes "c", "k", "ck", we clicked our hands as if they were CASTANETS.
For letter sound "e", we pretended to be an ELEPHANT and then we sang this song where we had to crack an imaginary egg.
After that we noticed that "h" is not a silent sound in English, we put a HAT in our heads, at the same time we practice this new sound.
For "r" sound we pretended to be a DOGGY, ripping a rag. Then we sang this song.
For "m" sound we TOUCHED OUR TUMMIES and we pretended to be eating a delicious and yummy meal.
To learn "d" sound we PLAYED THE DRUM. Here the song.
After learning the new letter sounds we started with their identification. We switched off the lights and we played with torches. Children had to recognize which grapheme represented the sound the teacher was saying. We included the capital letter of the sounds in the cards, due to that's the way children are learning the letters in Spanish Language.

THE TINY SEED
This book by Eric Carle is about the life cycle of all plants, as one tiny seed grows into an enormous sunflower, which then produces more seeds in its turn. We can see the four seasons vocabulary on it and a lot of words related to the weather and nature. We have only read the Autumn part, leaving the winter, spring and summer for the appropriate season moment.

PHONICS: FIRST GROUP OF LETTER SOUNDS
This month we started learning Phonics for the first time, with the first group of letter sounds: a, s, t, i, n, p. We enjoyed it very much!
To learn Letter "a" sound we pretended to eat an APPLE. Then we listened to this song below and we did the action: "We had ants on our arms!".

BITS OF INTELLIGENCE IN ENGLISH
Following the methodology that currently the Early Childhood teachers do in their classrooms in a magnificent way, I'm going to introduce you the Bits of Intelligence in English. It may sound weird, taking in account that we only have two hours per week of English in each course, but we can adapt it to our schedule extending the time to present a category of bits.
